Every interior is different, and sometimes the perfect fabric is the one you already have in mind. That’s why we offer a COM service across all Loop + Twist furniture.
Customer Sends the Material to Our Head Office
You source and supply your own fabric; we handle the rest.
Email trade@loopandtwist.co.uk with:
- The fabric(s) you're considering (supplier & reference if known)
- The product(s) you wish to specify
- Quantities required
Each COM enquiry is quoted on a case-by-case basis — we'll confirm suitability and come back to you with costs and the meterage we'll need.
Once approved, send your fabric to our head office. Include your order reference so we can match it up easily.

Our team will cut, upholster, and finish your piece to the same high standards as every Loop + Twist product. Lead times are typically 6–8 weeks from receipt of fabric — we'll advise on exact timelines once fabric has been received.
Fire retardancy
If Crib 5 fire retardancy is required for your project, this must be requested directly with your fabric supplier. We are unable to apply Crib 5 treatment to third-party fabrics.
We Source the Fabric on Your Behalf
Leave the fabric sourcing to us — ideal for commercial projects or when you need expert guidance.

Pricing
All COM orders are priced individually depending on the product, fabric, and quantities involved. We'll confirm full costs as part of your quote. A COM surcharge applies and will be included in your quotation.
terms & conditions
We are happy to offer upholstery using Customer’s Own Material (COM) on many of our trade items. If you are supplying your own fabric, please ensure that:
- The fabric is suitable for upholstery use.
- You have reviewed the fabric’s performance, durability, and fire safety standards.
- You are confident it is appropriate for the specific item(s) being upholstered.
Important: When clients supply or specify their own material, they are fully responsible for ensuring the fabric’s suitability for the product in question. loop + twist cannot be held liable for issues related to wear, fit, upholstery behaviour, or appearance arising from the use of COM fabrics.
Returns: All COM orders are made to order and cannot be returned, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.
